  • Transformational Link : Allendale – Mysterious theories exist as to the powers you receive from walking under it from start to finish.
  • Mackinaw Hall Courtyard Statue : Allendale – I appreciate this statue for its simplicity and sharpness.
  • Little Mac Bridge : Allendale – The Little Mac bridge is one of my favorite landmark icons for its uniqueness and scenic views.
  • Heaven and Earth : Allendale – This sculpture is one of my favorites in that to me, it symbolizes to reach for the stars!
  • Clock Tower : Downtown – GV’s downtown clock tower is Grand Rapid’s very own version of Big Ben!
  • Wind Over the Lake : Downtown : Artist = Daleene Menning – This is my favorite art piece given its use of an array of different colors and shapes.

From my research of Grand Valley’s Annual Report, I found some interesting statistics that I thought was worth highlighting.

My favorite data provided by GVSU is that of the Overall Private Giving, which significantly increased in 2018 to 26 Million Dollars.

I also appreciated the graph highlighting the Endowment Growth Fund which shows a significant increase from ’08 to ’18 by more than 66 million dollars. This increase symbolizes Grand Valley’s strong support from their alumni, and a will to keep the Grand Valley State University innovative.

Graduating in the spring of 2021 ,the prospect of being a Laker for a Lifetime is exciting. Grand Valley State University has been great to me and I am thankful to have been a student on such a beautiful and historic campus.

Receiving every grade in the book from A to D, my prospective of college has been constructed by my challenges and over-coming adversity. Changing my major 3 times, there has been moments of lost faith and skepticism of my future, yet the thought of calling myself an alumni from Grand Valley State University keeps me on path and in the fight. (Even with a couple bumps and bruises)

With this being the end of my fall semester of my Junior year I could not be more happy. The ability to be creative has made me fall in love with my major : Advertising and Public Relations. I finally feel I have found my craft and I cant wait to put my education into action to benefit my community.
